Passport Bro Dream in the Philippines and Thailand
Pandemic Dating Content and the Passport Bro Idea

Today’s story is about a man who wanted total control and convinced himself moving to Southeast Asia would be the answer to all his problems. Like many people, I found myself consuming an awful lot of online content during the COVID pandemic. furoughed from work, not being able to go out single. I found watching content was in a way like building friendships with people from different countries. Content that very quickly started appealing to me was mainly things to do with moving to other countries around the world, specifically with the hopes of maybe dating and getting into a serious relationship with a person from the country that you were going to go to.
As a guy who had always felt he was somewhat late to the game when it came to being a guy and what the traditional gender roles used to conform to, I always started feeling from a very young age that I had in a way been born a generation too late. I really envied how people used to have it in times gone by because it seems that the modern man has to accept a lot more negatives when dating, receive a lot less benefits, and not be in a position to be able to build the sort of relationship he always thought he would be able to build and always wanted to build. Thinking to himself that everything is all wrong. There are so many people that feel like this because I in a way had these feelings throughout my life, though I’d never really thought much of it.
To start with, I thought I was unusual. I thought I was strange. I thought I was different because everyone just seemed to get on and make do. And I didn’t want to make do. When you understand that there’s a whole community of other people out there that share the same opinions as you and want the same things as you and are actively trying to find something like you want, you do find yourself watching them and taking on board what they’re saying and starting to think that this might be something that you could do, too. Although at the time I’d never heard the term passport bro, and I would never even really have considered myself a passport bro because it just seemed to be a backward statement, I would look back and think that perhaps that statemen t would be somewhat acceptable based on what I was thinking and might do with the pandemic finally came to an end. You have to understand it from everyone’s perspective. The perspective of the modern woman, I suppose, at least from the west, is that they want equality. And yes, that’s right.
They want equality of things which don’t seem to make sense to a guy because my grandparents, for example, my grandfather met my grandmother. She never had a boyfriend before, never been in any way already experienced. It just feels like that’s what every guy wants. Every guy should be able to meet a girl from his own country during their early 20s or whenever you might meet them. They should both be inexperienced or they should both be able to not have any of the negative thoughts of anything of her trying to be someone that you as a guy might found uncomfortable being with based on what she did before. The problem is it’s like most women are like that at home. Most are. It’s not a small proportion. It’s most finding someone is very difficult when you are that way inclined.
Then when you’re looking at the passport bro angle and going dating in different countries, you are understanding that yes, you’re not necessarily going to be able to meet someone who has never had a boyfriend before, but at the very least, you’re going to hopefully be able to meet someone who might conform to the traditional gender roles that you’ve always perceived to be what you were interested in and what you think gender roles were always meant to continue being. It’s always been the case throughout history, hasn’t it? things have been a particular way and then all of a sudden when they change suddenly there are going to be a lot of people who struggle to adapt. I wasn’t able to adapt because every time I had a relationship I find that one of the first topics of conversation often when you meet someone and you’re going out on a date at home she’s starting to talk about her ex and things like that. I don’t want to hear something about that. I find it very humiliating to things to have to listen to. I’ve always considered men and women to be quite different physically. I mean, of course, they’re very different physically. It is the physical differences that I believe which have caused the generational, multi-entury, multi,000year human revolution to be the way it is.
What’s happening now has caused people like me to believe that going somewhere to find someone is going to be the best thing to do. And I really started to feel like that. And I know many people felt the same way. I was going to be deciding where I wanted to go. And I wasn’t looking at a specific country in particular. Although Southeast Asia seemed to be the part of the world where a guy like me could really fit in, land on his feet and be able to take charge, to be able to meet someone who wanted someone to look after them and take charge of them and be the boss and be the guy who he’s meant to be and who can conform as a traditional woman’s role is meant to conform to. That appealed to me. Southeast Asia stood out. Not saying that I wasn’t fascinated by places in South America, too.
Although coming from Europe, I looked at South America a bit like it’s just a different version of Europe. That’s completely inaccurate. But the people are very similar, aren’t they?
Choosing Southeast Asia for a Traditional Relationship

Southeast Asia was so much different. Southeast Asia was a different kettle of fish altogether. I was looking forward to the restrictions being lifted and was probably thinking to myself at this point, I was 42 years old, thinking I’m going to go to the Philippines. The reason the Philippines stood out to me was because most of the people that I watched during CO happened to be there.
The English language requirements there were good and therefore you could communicate properly. I just felt like I fit in better with the guys who were in the Philippines. The thoughts of actually meeting someone and being able to find yourself in a proper relationship and actually be the guy for a change was really really appealing to me. I suppose in a way I really thanked CO for opening things up the way they did in my mind as if to give guys like me the understanding that there really is something better out there.
You don’t have to feel like you’re the odd one out at home not being able to actually move forwards and get what you want because there i s something out there for a guy like me. It was very fun to think about. A few years of consuming content and at this point I felt like I knew the Philippines. I did watch people in Thailand too.
Thailand plays the biggest part of my story. I think it was approximately a year and a half after I started watching content when I was actually on the way to the Philippines. All restrictions lifted. No way was I going to succumb to any government pressure to put something in my body that I wasn’t prepared to have put in my body.
Even if it was going to be a good thing. It was just a principle. Don’t tell me what to do. I wasn’t going to succumb to any of those temptations to fall for that scam and to be able to travel quicker.
I’ll wait. And I waited. and I went with my head held high as if to say I didn’t fall for the traps like so many people did.
Arriving in the Philippines After the Pandemic

Landing in the Philippines, I think it was halfway through 2022. I was 43 at this point. Although I’d spent lots of time consuming content, feeling like I knew the place, feeling like I’d watched people do the taxi ride from the airport to Makati where I was staying. In a way, I did feel like I’d knew it, like I’d been there before.
But you only have the sights when you’re watching it. Now you’ve got the sounds and the smells, and you’ve got everything else that went along with it. And it gave me this vibrant arrival to what seemed a place that was going to be something where I could achieve something for a change in terms of getting what I wanted. A proper respectable relationship where I could be in control and where I could take care of her and she can fulfill the role of a woman properly, not like the women at home.
It was really exciting to think about this happening. Before long, I got to Makati and I knew based on all of the videos I’d watched where everything was, the sorts of places you should stay, the sorts of places you should avoid, and the sorts of places where you should meet girls. One thing that many guys talked about who were there already, at least I suppose the people I watched mainly was to try to avoid the bars. The bars aren’t really the best place to meet someone.
If you want someone who’s traditional and you want someone who’s actually respectable, you might not find that in the bars. I did find myself going to a few of the bars around Makati just to experience them and it was a wild time but like it was just a tourist experience the tourist side of things. It wasn’t something where I wanted to meet someone. Ever since I found out that I had this movement that I purposefully avoided joining dating sites at home because I didn’t want to get into the trap of not being able to go and meet someone I might want to meet.
I purposefully did that. I did have a huge list of sites. I mean I had already joined them but I hadn’t published my profile yet. That was something I did when I landed in the Philippines.
Activated the profiles and sat back and took in this whole new experience, which was the Philippines, Southeast Asia, the abundance of what appeared to be opportunities for guys just like me. I’d already quit my job to do this trip. While I’d gone originally for a month, I was most likely going to be spending a lot longer there, knowing based on the research into online work and online jobs that I’d done, that was something I could do eventually if I needed to.
Cryptocurrency Gains and a New Life Plan

But I had always been interested in cryptocurrency and always done investments. And I suppose I’d done quite well out of a Bitcoin investment. Don’t want to foreshadow anything here, but what had happened was me thinking that I had somehow cracked the code of cryptocurrency trading.
Okay, I’ve made a lot of money out of this. Not going to sugarcoat it. I made about $200,000 about give or take.
It was quite a lot of money and I’d made it out of Bitcoin. And I thought that was what I planned to do when I landed on my feed. Get myself sorted out.
get myself finding the relationship that I wanted, do everything like that and then get back into cryptocurrency trading, maybe do some forex on the side. I had made money at it before and I really do think that gave me this false sense of security that I was good at it and I knew what to do, not that I just got in at the right time and it was blind luck. I was of the idea based on this understanding that if you want to be in this movement, you can’t just go and the n work a normal job back at home.
You’ve got to live it. You’ve got to be there. That’s why I quit the job.
That’s why I had some money to one side to get myself in place.
Dating and Relationships in Manila

A few days in Makati were a blur of exhilaration seeing what was available there, seeing the people there, and seeing the way of life. It just felt like it really did conform to what I expected life to be. It was exciting as I’m starting to get messages from girls who were messaging me. At home, you’d have to message girls and they wouldn’t respond.
It’s like girls at home. They have the pick of what they want and the girls who are in charge. It’s the girls who are there to be the demanding ones to be able to control who gets what to be able to let the guy know if he’s worthwhile or not because it’s her who’s there. And you get you’re joining a site at home.
You message people and no one gets in touch and it didn’t work for you. But in the Philippines, it was the exact opposite of that. Exactly like it should be the girl pursuing the guy. The guy is the valuable one in the relationship in terms of so many things.
Now, okay, the girl is very valuable too in terms of being the emotional support to the guy and things like that. what was going on in the Philippines was exactly what I thought life had always meant to be and it was happening right in front of me and that made me feel like it was the best thing I’d ever done. I’d been watching content for a long time and I’m watching these guys looking at them and thinking everything you said was right and I’m living the dream here and I hadn’t even met anybody yet. Then I’m starting to meet girls all the time and everything is just right, exactly like it should be.
You start dating a few different girls at the same time and one week you’re traveling to the beach with one girl, the next week you’re going up to Angel’s with another girl. Probably not the best place to take a girl and I’m really actually falling into place in the Philippines and enjoying myself. Not long later, I found myself in what I felt was a serious relationship. I suppose I should have understood when I noticed things perhaps not being the way I hoped they would be.
