I’ve stopped calling people simps. I’m now calling them simpoids. So instead of mongaloids we call them simpoids. And there are tons of these types of characters here in Thailand.

I think it’s fair and right to say that there are a lot of decent, happy couples that are married, that have got kids where they’re not just based on money. And these relationships tend to have been going for 15 plus years. They started 15 plus years ago. And the guys met really good, honest, hardworking Thai women, settled down, had families, and they’re quite happy. And some guys have met decent women and they are decent guys and they’ve got along well in this country.

And then you have your other groups where they know the score, they know how it works here in Thailand, and they just come here and have fun and go on their merry way. And then you’ve got other guys that live a bachelor lifestyle and just play around with the women and get on with their lives because they don’t want to get involved in a financial relationship.

Why Some Foreign Men Turn to Money to Find Thai Partners

There are guys that come here that would not normally fit into modern society back home. Women would not touch them with a 10-foot barge pole. Not because they’re ugly. It’s because of who they are inside, the personality, the morals, the ethics, the code of conduct, the way they carry themselves. Basically, the dregs of society. And you get a lot of that comes over here to Thailand.

They know who they are. They know what they are. And they do everything that they can in order to get with women here. And the whole objective, the whole purpose of life is women. So they will say and do whatever they can in order to get Thai women into bed. And the types of Thai women that will go to bed with these Mongaloids, simpoids, also are very tricky themselves. And they know that these guys are simpoids but they play the game and they will try to play them and get the money out of them because normally when you’re a simp you’ll pay in order to try to have a girlfriend and to try to keep a woman and to try to get a woman to say that she loves you and stays with you so you’re not lonely, etc. And yeah, these women will do what they can in order to extract as much as they can from these types of men.

And these men will do everything that they can to extract what they can get out of these women. And that is just the way it works.

These guys will hunt women down on social media, on the Facebook accounts, Instagram accounts, YouTube accounts, on the Thai friendly apps, the dating apps. They’ll make out that they are something they’re not in order to get the woman to like them. They will send messages offering money just to go on a date and have dinner with them. They will offer incredible amounts of money just for that woman to go back to their room or to their house or wherever they’re staying. And that’s why it’s got quite ruthless over here in Thailand now because the simpoids have made it very difficult for anybody that’s normal to be able to come over to Thailand and live and have a normal relationship.

Why Some Thai Women Accept Financial Support From Foreign Men

Not all Thai women are interested in foreign men. It is a very small percentage of Thai women that have an interest in foreign men.

There’s a reason for it. Normally, they’re poor, struggling, in debt, or single mothers, and they can’t get the type of guy that they want from their own home country. So, they move over to a foreign man in order to get a monthly sponsorship, in order for that guy to build a house, in order for that guy to give them a luxury lifestyle and take care of them.

And fair enough. It’s a struggle over here in Thailand. And if they find a good simpoid that they can take advantage of and get a better life out of, then I understand it. Yeah, I really, really do. I really, really do.

How Money Has Changed Online Dating in Thailand

Now unfortunately because there are so many simps that come over here to Thailand that throw money all over to try to get a girlfriend that are willing to buy a girlfriend, buy a wife, and be with women that clearly do not love them whatsoever. Women that are half the age, women that are a quarter of the age. I mean, you get all different types of these guys that come over here to Thailand. And a lot of these guys actually do meet the match because they do tend to get with a woman that does understand who and what they are and they will just do what they can in order to extract what they can and then get the hell away from that simp and rightly so.

You have to be so careful now because Thai women are literally putting on their online dating profiles that they don’t want a stingy man. They want a monthly salary. They want a guy who’s going to create a future for them. And basically, they want a guy to spend a lot of money on them and take care of them and their families. And if you’re not willing to do that, then hit the road, Jack.

Because it seems that they’re very tired of giving foreigners a chance and then meeting a guy who’s like a simpoid who they can’t create a future with that maybe he’s not given them exactly what they want and then they feel like they’ve wasted the time and they’ve got to try and move on to the next etc and they’ve had enough.

So now they’re just making it very, very clear to men on these dating sites that listen, if you want to be with me, you’ve got to pay a set amount of money. You’ve got to build a house. You got to take care of my family. And you’ve got to do what I want you to do in order to get that woman.

And that’s how it is with a lot of the women that you will meet on dating sites.

Why Bar and Freelancer Relationships Can Keep Foreigners Paying

Obviously, if you meet them in bars or they’re a freelancer, it’s all 100% about money. You’ll always be a customer forever, no matter how much you fool yourself. On the dating side, you do have a chance, provided she more than likely doesn’t speak any English. she lives on a farm in the middle of nowhere and she doesn’t have friends who have foreign husbands, etc. you need to get somebody who’s totally out of the mix normally to have a chance.

Now you can still get decent ones that do speak English that are in the mix and got friends who have foreign partners that are getting wined and dined and monthly salaried up. It does happen. It is possible, but it’s rare and you’re going to struggle to find it.

And I’ve known this for a long time and that’s why I’ve always said that guys need to stay single over here in Thailand.

But now it’s more prevalent than ever before.

I mean, I’d say 80% of the people, the guys that I meet, the foreigners that are over here, that are living here, that are staying here, are simping to the max. They are in a relationship where you can see that the woman that they’re with clearly doesn’t like them at all, but they’re with them because they’re poor and they have to take care of their families or they want a better life or they want a luxury lifestyle or they want the debts cleared, etc. And they’re having to endure that man. And you can see it quite clearly. And it’s not just me that can see it. Most long-term expats that have got common sense and got a little tiny bit about them, can see it as well.

Not everybody is a simpoid. there just is a large proportion of simps that come here to Thailand and really do simp to the max.

Why Money-Based Relationships Feel Different From Dating Back Home

I know guys who are simps, they don’t want to admit that they’re simps. They’ll say everything that they can in order to discredit the word simp, and they’ll make out that you have to pay back home, so you have to pay here. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, which is nuts.

I don’t think there’s a single English woman back home, unless she’s on drugs. Or she’s working on the corner. Who literally asks you for a monthly salary from the from the get-go from when you first meet. It doesn’t work like that. Doesn’t work like that back home whatsoever. Unless you get with a pole dancer or you get with, a proper, proper dodgy woman. So, I hate that argument and I hate the guys that say that. It’s super annoying.

Oh, I got divorced. You took me for everything that I had. So it’s cheaper over here. Yeah, but you but at least when you were in that relationship, it started off with something real more than likely unless you did date a stripper. And it did start off on something real, but then something happened within the relationship. And women are very vengeful. And yeah, they will take you for everything. they are very, very ruthless when they’re hurt or they fall out of love. And yeah, they will they will do whatever they can and I get that and I won’t defend that and I know how bad they can be. But there’s normally a reason behind it, but you didn’t start your relationship off like that. And in Thailand, you started your relationship off purely from money.

What Financially Based Relationships Can Mean Later

So, when guys complain later on down the line, oh, she’s done this or she’s cheated on me or she’s done this. Well, yeah, she’s with you for money. She’s not with you because you’re great in the sack. She’s not with you because you’re a handsome man. She’s not with you because she values your morals, ethics, and principles. She’s with you because you’re willing to support her. And she feels like she has no choice. So, she’s taking that on.

Now, that’s not just here in Thailand. That’s over in the Philippines. That’s over in Vietnam. That’s over in Cambodia. Throughout Southeast Asia, there are women that are struggling, that are in a lot of debt, that need someone to help them. And foreigners, more than willing to help, that come over here to places like Thailand, and they are willing to get the money out of the pockets in order to get a woman that wouldn’t normally look at them twice. And there are a lot of guys that are happy to be in those kinds of relationships, but they deny that they’re in those relationships, a lot of them, and try to blag that they’re a normal person and they’re in a normal relationship.

How Foreign Men Can Protect Their Power When Dating

You won’t understand all this until you come over here and live here, have your eyes and ears open, and really watch what goes on.

You need to do a bit of research as well. You need to jump on the dating scene. you need to have dates now in 2026 and see what it’s like. You need to have female Thai friends that can show you the messages that the guys send to them off the dating apps. I mean, there are guys that literally beg, and I mean beg to actually spend a night with a woman or they beg to actually just go for dinner with these women. They just literally grab their power that they’ve got as a man and just hand it over to the woman and basically say, “Please, please choose me for a few hours or a night or whatever.”

And you’re just literally giving the woman all the power for her to use and abuse that power and take you to the cleaners. And I see that’s what goes on all the time.

How to Keep Your Self-Respect When Dating in Thailand

Not all Thai women are bad. And remember, most Thai women are not interested in foreigners whatsoever. It just seems that there’s a lot because of the tourist places that you spend time in. A lot of women go to tourist places because they’re struggling and they need to generate a living. They need to generate an income. They need to feed their families. And when a load of foreigners are turning up saying basically, I’ll pay you this. I’ll build you a house and I’ll do this and I’ll do that if you just be my girlfriend. Then these women will not all of them but a lot of these women that are interested and struggling will take that on and will do it because they need a better life and you can’t just always blame the Thai women that they’re bad and all this kind of stuff because a lot of the guys walked into it you know with open eyes open arms and an open wallet

I think when you’re that type of guy, you’ll always be that type of guy. Nothing’s really going to change. There are a lot of guys with mental health issues that come over here. And I get it. And there’s a lot of lonely people, a lot of lonely guys that come over here, and I get that too.

But you need to keep your self-respect and you need to be careful if you want to get involved in a relationship and you want to believe that it’s based on something real. don’t fool yourselves. Don’t kid yourselves. Understand it for what it is and then that’s fine. It’s up to you how you want to live your life. Just don’t be a simp.
