Bangkok Chinatown Street Food at Night

So, now it’s almost 8:30. We started our journey from Asoke at 7:00. We are going to start tonight’s vlog a little bit calm, a little bit foodie. So, let’s eat before we start drinking. It’s pouring and both my cams are not water resistant, so hopefully it will not get worse. But definitely we are going to catch some beautiful vibes with this cam. As you can see, it’s busy, it’s crowded, and definitely these days if you want to go out, you don’t have to worry about the weather. And especially in Bangkok, the rainy season is very, very long. We are still at the beginning in June and the rain continues till mid-October now. It’s nearly impossible to walk, so crowded. Today is Saturday and usually on weekends it is more crowded than usual.

So, our first stop will be a famous noodle shop at Thanon Yaowarat. This is a really nice place if you like noodles. I’m going to try noodles. So, our first dish will be noodles. Let us start from somewhere. Definitely, it will not be our last dish, but let’s eat.

What do you recommend? Our best seller is number one, number four, and number 10. If you want to try everything we have in our shop, number four is a good choice. This is everything in one bowl. This is noodles with wonton and roasted pork. Yes. Let me start with this one. All right. And do you like it with soup or without soup? Without soup. Okay. Thank you so much.

All right. So, this is the dish. As you can see, noodles with pork and dumpling. Really nice. I’ve tried it before. It’s so yummy. Before we start drinking, we need to fill our stomach with some food. Very good. You know, it’s not only the food. It’s very hot, it’s humid. Today is 35° now at night, and the humidity is around 70. So, you can feel the vibes at Chinatown, but at least it’s not raining.

If you come here hungry, definitely your plans will change every 10 m. And tonight no diets. All these street food around you, definitely you are going to get hungry. So, that was our first dish. Let’s continue exploring. This is one of the best areas in Bangkok to feel the city alive after sunset. During the day, Bangkok is busy, but at night, Yaowarat becomes another world. Neon lights, street food, smoke, tourists, locals, tuk-tuks, traffic, this is really Bangkok energy. Even in rainy season, Bangkok nights can still be full of life.

This is also another famous place to eat pad thai and noodles in a hot pot. So, we are going to sit here. So, it will be our second dish. We have to eat a lot before we start drinking. We are going to end today’s vlog, hopefully if it does not rain, in Khao San Road. So, we are going to have something in a hot pot. Let’s see what we can eat. Let’s enjoy.

Walking from Chinatown to Song Wat Road

You can see along the way a lot of people come here, not only to enjoy the food or the vibes, also to take some beautiful pictures with these neon lights in the background. Really, it’s beautiful to take some shots here at Chinatown. As you know, Chinatown in Bangkok is one of the biggest Chinatowns in Asia. After two dishes, let’s eat something sweet. And you know one of the best things to eat when you are in Thailand, especially Bangkok, mango sticky rice. Check this out.

You can see 50 baht, beautifully decorated with a flower, and lots of mangoes. This is the coconut milk rice. Very good.

Yeah, what was that? That was amazing. All 50 baht. Now I’m super full. So let’s walk a little bit, digest, and look at some beautiful vibes. Later we had our second stop, Sampeng Road, which is not so far from here. I’m going to show you how to get to Sampeng Road once you are in Chinatown. The smells are coming from everywhere. So if you are hungry, it feels so good. But if you are not hungry, it’s a little bit a lot.

All right, I think it’s enough from Chinatown. Our stomach is happy. We have digested a little bit. And now let’s walk to our second stop of tonight, which is Song Wat Road. And it’s very easy to reach. It’s only 5 minutes walk from here. As you can see, this is the main road of Yaowarat, the street food section. Just turn right and continue walking directly without going left or right, and you will be at the main street of Song Wat. But the first mission is to pass this crowd.

All right, let’s walk from the outside. It’s a little bit dangerous because of the cars, as you can see, and a lot of tuk-tuks. Maybe we can take a tuk-tuk later after Song Wat and head to Khao San. Because walking inside is mission impossible. So, I think walking from here is much better. Hello, hello, tuk-tuk. I want to see the 7-Eleven. So, this is from the backside of Song Wat Road.

And this is the beginning of the soi. Now, usually this street is busy around sunset time because there are lots of beautiful places to take pictures. As I said, it’s famous especially for the young generation. So, if you want to see the real action, you have to come around sunset time.

Song Wat Road Evening Bars and Hidden Sois

But at night time, you have lots of pubs and bars, and really cozy places in hidden sois to have some drinks and to start your night. I feel it coming.

It’s really nice streets with all roads. There is no one. It’s totally empty. That’s the fun. Check this out. Usually these roads are full of people, shoppers. This way you go to Sampeng Market. And this way back to Chinatown.

We are back to the main road of Chinatown after having a quick drink at Song Wat. You saw that Song Wat has totally different vibes. It’s calmer, usually at night time, but it’s better to go there if you are couples or a group, rather than alone.

Khao San Road Nightlife and Prices

Khaosan Road. Go right. Okay? Okay, Mike? I see. Okay. Okay? Welcome to Khaosan Road. From our first tuk-tuk, with a little bit of negotiation in Thai, the ride was 150 Thai Baht. First, he asked 200 Thai Baht, but if you speak a little bit of Thai, especially if you can ask the price in Thai, then you can get a discount. So, 150 Thai Baht. Here we are in front of Khao San Road. Another vibe. Definitely.

As you can see, it’s already busy. Now, it’s around 15 minutes to 11:00. No roti because I’m super full. Some places are very, very busy and there is no place to sit. Great atmosphere, and some places are very calm. You know now we are in the low season. Not all the pubs and the bars are full, but all in all the Bangkok nights are beautiful.

Of course you are wondering about the prices. If you want to have a small beer, it is 100, 110, or 120 Thai Baht. And if you want to have a big beer like a Chang, I’ve got three Changs for 450 Thai Baht, 150 Thai Baht for each Chang for the big ones.
