Bangkok Nightlife: Hidden Rooftop Bars in Silom and Sukhumvit

Bangkok Nightlife in August

Bangkok Nightlife in Bangkok’s Rainy Season

We are in August. It’s low season. It’s rainy season. A lot of people are asking what the vibes are in Bangkok at night. It’s Saturday night, and it’s not raining.

You would think the rain would cool down Bangkok a little bit. Well, no. It just turns this big city into a big sauna. Although we are in the rainy season, it’s super hot and humid. The weather today is around 34 degrees, but feels like 42. It could rain, but tonight we are lucky. It’s not raining, and the steam mists along the way are helping a little bit to cool the weather. Still, it’s very, very hot and super humid. Hopefully, we can make it better with some cold beers.

    Silom Nightlife Beyond Patpong

    Silom Nightlife Beyond Patpong

A lot of people think that the nightlife in Silom is only about the crazy nightlife, the pubs and the bars, or the red-light district, but Silom is more than that. You have to search for it. It’s not like Sukhumvit. You have to find the good places, the best places, where usually locals know. Tonight I’m going to show some of these places where locals enjoy their time on the weekends, besides the classical ones like Patpong and the surrounding nightlife streets.

Our first stop is Uncultured Silom Rooftop Bar. It’s also known as Chue Chart Silom. It’s a really nice place. It has beautiful views and local vibes, and I think they also have live music on the weekends. It’s around a 9-minute walk from here, and it’s not far from the BTS. It took five minutes walking, and it’s super hot.

The name is Uncultured Rooftop Bar. Before, it was known as Chue Chart Silom, but I think they’ve changed the name. This is the entrance. It’s a secret entrance, and we have to take the stairs because they don’t have elevators. That’s the point. If you are going to get drunk, then you have to walk all this way. It’s a rooftop bar at the fifth floor. There are a lot of stairs, but the views are amazing once you are up.

We had two beers there, and each one was 153 Thai baht. It’s 130 Thai baht, and 23 Thai baht is the tax and service charge. The name has changed. Now it’s On Culture Rooftop Bar. It’s not far from the BTS.

    Heaven Rooftop Bar in Silom

    Heaven Rooftop Bar in Silom

Our second stop is another hidden bar. It’s called Heaven Rooftop Bar. We are checking the local sky bars. Later, we are going to Patpong to check the street vibes and the classical places. Today I’m showing hidden bars and rooftop bars that locals usually know about.

As you can see from the sign, it’s called Heaven Rooftop Bar. It’s just at the corner of On Culture Rooftop Bar. It’s another secret bar, and you have to enter from the hotel entrance. Once you enter the elevator, it’s the seventh floor. Heaven Rooftop Bar is another place to check once you are in Silom. It’s a really nice place.

They also have live music. These are signature cocktails. The choices are Mango Dream and piña colada. I took the mango one. You also have views from the BTS, but it’s a rooftop with a more strategic view. It’s called Heaven Bar. They have live music and beautiful views. Today we are lucky. It’s cloudy, but it’s not raining. Yet, it’s super hot.

We are mixing beers and cocktails because I want to share the prices. This one is a signature cocktail. It’s called Mango on Silom, something like that. Very good. Silom is not only about crazy nightlife, go-go bars and crazy pubs. You also have beautiful rooftop bars, cheap drinks, affordable prices, beautiful views and local vibes.

Why Silom Is Worth Exploring in Low Season

Why Silom Is Worth Exploring in Low Season

These are some of the places that you might visit and enjoy once you are in Bangkok around Silom. Later, we are heading towards Sukhumvit. Low season has its advantages. It’s not crowded, and you can find places to sit. In the high season, these places are fully booked, especially on the weekends.

    Saturday Night in Sukhumvit 11

    Saturday Night in Sukhumvit 11

If in Silom we are going to find or search for the nightlife, once you arrive to Sukhumvit, definitely nightlife is everywhere. Surely, Sukhumvit 11 is one of the best sois to check out to see the vibes on Saturday nights. We are also checking the prices because last time a lot of people were saying that the prices of the beers or the drinks are expensive, and Bangkok is becoming very expensive concerning alcohol. Tonight I am checking the differences between the prices in the pubs and the bars and the places that have live music.
