True Thailand Stories From Bangkok Pattaya and Phuket
I am from the UK and moved to Thailand in 2013 as a bright eyed bushy tailed 25 year old to come and teach English in the central region of the country I wanted to get away from the boring environment of working in a UK call center and the opportunity to come to Thailand and do something different was one I couldn’t turn down
before I came out here I had no idea of the fascination or interest some Thai woman had with foreigners I didn’t have any interest in Asian or Thai women before I came to Thailand that changed pretty quick as a decent looking 25 year old I would get women staring at me and I had no idea why at first part of the reason was because of where I was living it was a bit off the Beaten Track not too many tourists so they didn’t see foreigners that often they would smile I would smile back and think to myself strange what’s all this
about then after speaking to friends I made here at the time it didn’t take me long to realize what it was all about like I said I had no interest in Asian or Thai women before moving here I genuinely thought I would be engrossed in my work with no time to do much else oh how wrong I was this story happened in June 2013 about six weeks after I had moved to Thailand I got a friend request from a Thai woman on Facebook called Beau she was very random no friends in common and I definitely didn’t know her I looked at a profile picture and she
Meeting Beau and Visiting Her Father
looked cute so I accepted within minutes she had sent me a message and initiated a conversation I was happy to message her back and fourth of course just to see what would happen she asked me if I wanted to meet up and I said I’d like to so a few days later we met at the local Big C for the first time Beau was attractive barely over five foot slim dark hair very beautiful smile we walked around a bit and her English was surprisingly good for the place I was living in which I had some food and chatted some more after a couple of hours she asked
if I would like to go to her house to meet her father at this point I was a little taken back and reluctant but being new here and not really knowing the Rules of Engagement when meeting women I agreed we jumped on our motorbike and headed to her home about two miles away just on the outskirts of the city when we got there I met Bo’s dad he was a police officer and this will play a part in the story later he said hello didn’t speak any English and I didn’t speak any Thai but was nice enough and poured me a beer there was
some Thai football on the TV so I just sat there awkwardly sipping my Leo watching football half communicating with her dad with sounds and lots of hand gestures while Beau sat next to me laughing and smiling but not saying a lot after a couple of hours I asked if she could take me back to my place it was the early evening by this point and I was conscious that I had worked the next morning Beau said yes of course so I said my goodbyes to her dad and jumped on her bike back to my place so this is where the real part of the story starts to
kick off because I had also started messaging other women I had met online I wasn’t the brightest at the time and wasn’t aware of how things worked in Thailand once we got back to mine I thought I’d try my luck if you know what I mean she was a good looking woman so I thought why not as it happens she let me do the deed and all was right in the world afterwards when we were lying in bed together I started to openly message other ladies I was speaking to she caught on to what I was doing and started asking me what was going on
I told her that I didn’t want a girlfriend at this point I wanted to message and meet other women and that meant I was happy for her to go out and meet other guys this I realized was a huge mistake I know I should have clarified this before any aerobics took place Bo acted as if it was okay but something didn’t feel quite right after some time to and thrown and me tried to convince her that this was the best way things started to go up downhill fast from here she was clearly not in tune with my thoughts about what this relationship
The Night Beau Pulled a Knife and Spoon
was all about and started to make it very clear to me a couple of hours passed so I wanted to know if she wanted to stay the night or leave then she walked into my very under equipped kitchen and started looking for something in a drawer I literally only had one fork one knife and one spoon in there I saw her pull out the knife and even though I knew it was really blunt this act still terrified me she held the knife up I said to her what are you doing don’t do anything to hurt yourself she replied and said no and pointed the knife at me
this took me back but I knew I would be safe because unless she was a Thai karate champ I was almost a foot taller than her and not far off double her weight that isn’t to say I would hurt her but I would be able to Snuff out any attacks she made on me and keep her both safe I immediately rushed and grabbed the knife out of her hand and I threw it behind me then she ducked back into the drawer and I pulled out this and she pulled out the spoon I have to admit that at this point I giggled and said what are you gonna do with that spoon my
eyes out then she started trying to cut her wrists with it the Act made me terrified of her mental state even though I knew she couldn’t do much if not any damage to herself with a spoon you have to have visited Thailand to believe all of this anyway at this point I knew I had to change Tack and began to reason with her and calm her down it’s got to be around 10 30 11 p.
m and I’m now thinking about work in the morning also living around me are people associated with the school that I work at Beau was acting very weird she would stand by the window and gaze out looking into nothing in particular again this worried me as it wasn’t normal behavior after another couple of hours back and forth I persuaded her that she should go home and we could speak about things in the morning she agreed but even when she got to her motorbike parked outside she sat on it for a good 15 ma for good 15 minutes
before finally she left relief I thought this would be the end of the story nope there’s more after a rough few hours sleep I got ready in the morning and headed off for work by this point I heard nothing from Bo and was praying and hoping she wouldn’t get in touch with me always quiet until about 1pm that afternoon I got a message on my line account from a contact I didn’t have I never saved I was actually in the middle of teaching a class and I didn’t need this at all this person asked me if I knew Beau I said I did and then this
The Hospital Message and a Possible Trap
person introduced themselves as her brother he kept asking me what had I done to her the night before now Panic was beginning to hit I explained that we did the deed and what else happened and that she was upset I also told him that I was chatting with another lady online but that I’d not laid a finger on her and wouldn’t dare hoping to defuse the situation he said he believed me but that bowl was in hospital after trying to take her own life what is going on he told me she had tried to cut her wrist and had taken an
overdose of something now I’m scared I start thinking about her father being in the police and what he might come and do to me could he get me deported or put me in jail I asked where and he said the local Private Hospital in the city then he sends a photo of Bowl laying in a bed with a tube inserted into her hand oh no this can’t be true in my mind at this point I’m done I won’t be able to stay in the country I’m thinking I’ll have to move back to the UK to my old boring life and that really made me sad and upset of course
Bowl being in hospital was horrible but in my mind this was all just crazy and a huge overreaction to the fact that I was simply messaging someone else I tried to find out if she was okay why would she do this and other things I was genuinely concerned for her at this point and even offered to go to the hospital after I finished work to check on her her brother told me there is no need as there were family members already there with her then oddly he starts saying to me that when Bo is better and out of hospital we could be together again and
use his apartment that he says he has in Bangkok to live in and in the future he told me that he has money starts mentioning BMWs and other luxury items that he has okay that’s a weird thing to bring up if your sister has just tried to commit suicide I politely said I don’t think this is the time to talk about this slowly throughout the afternoon the message is stopped it got to around 5 p.
m and I wasn’t getting any response from her brother the other lady I was messaging from the night before was a couple of years older than me she seemed like she was grown up she knew what our relationship was about and wasn’t bothered about me meeting other women I called her and I told her what had happened and she immediately said she’s not in hospital this girl is trying to guilt you and trap you into being with her she is acting and messaging you pretending to be her brother she made me feel a lot better and got me
Discovering the Hospital Story Was Fake
thinking is that really her brother messaging me is she really in hospital is this all one horrible game that she is playing before this I was genuinely thinking about how I would have to leave the country what if my school found out what if her dad came to my house the police officers here have guns I thought I was in a real state of panic at one point I had a thought back then you could message people on Facebook and if they didn’t turn off their location when messaging you could see where they were messaging you from
I decided to send a message to Bo on Facebook just to see if she would respond she did she wrote that she was now awake and still in hospital but not feeling too good I played around for a bit then clicked on one of the messages she was not messaging me from the hospital her brother had said she was at she was in fact at home I knew this because I had been there the day before what a horrible woman I immediately confronted her about this and where she was she didn’t even reply I couldn’t believe this had all been some sick game to
guilt me into being with her I checked double check and triple checked the messages she had sent on Facebook and I knew that she had not even visited the hospital this is just Madness how many other guys had she tried to do this to to does she seriously think she’s going to get a foreign Boyfriend by acting like a psycho it turns out that Thai people unlike in the west take photos of everything the photo was just an old photograph of her in hospital for some other reason the lady I was messaging told me that was the case I was just really surprised
that people had photos of themselves saved on their phones from when they were in hospital the last time as I said I was new and didn’t understand how things worked here at all she did try and messaged me a few weeks later apologizing for what she had done and saying something along the lines of let’s forget about the past and can’t we just be friends not a chance I thought I deleted and blocked her on all social media accounts and messaging apps never to hear from her again looking back I’m glad this happened
early on as it taught me a valuable lesson on dating here what you should and should not do and what signs to look out for in a crazy woman I did not make the same mistake again but I realized I had to be smarter if I was going to date in this country all’s well that ends well I guess thanks for reading out this story don’t get too far ahead of yourself and think you can do what you want here Asian and Thai women don’t think the same as women in the west so you need to be very careful with how you act it can get you into a lot of trouble
Story 2: Finding a Way to Live and Teach in Thailand
about a guy’s experience of wanting to come and live in Thailand and I won’t tell you a bit I was just going to tell you because that’ll spoil the story so let’s just get on with it this is not a love story but a story about my love for Thailand in 2008 on the way to Taiwan I had stopped off at Bangkok it was love at first sight the energy and kindness of the people made me want to purposely miss my connecting flight to Taiwan there is something very magical about the kingdom and I Now understand why it has become such a popular tourist
destination my dream of living there was a million miles away and when asked what is the biggest culture shock in Thailand I would always respond with returning to the UK I eventually got to fly out to Thailand on an all guys holiday in 2010 later visiting again in 2013 2014 2015 then again in 2022. Thailand is never a holiday it’s always a life experience every visit has always blown my mind and I would always dream of living there I started exploring ways to stay there and would ask every expat I encountered it it was always a usual
reply I have a business out here or I teach English here or my company has real relocated me here not having any connections I went down the teaching English route I returned to the UK to finish my final year of my degree and I obtained a tefl certificate in Vietnam the training center had employed me after the course had finished and I ended up teaching for four years on a very sustainable salary I considered finding employment in Thailand but quickly learned that the tefl teachers are often paid rice suit money where
some teachers paying agents to teach for the experience please don’t get me wrong there are some very good tefl teachers out there who truly know how to hustle and create a good standard of living for themselves but at the time I was better off teaching in Vietnam in 2016 I had broken up with my Vietnamese partner of two years which ended my run in Vietnam and forced me to return to the UK depressed and back to square one again I recall having to deliver fish at 2AM in the morning to survive I chose to be a delivery driver because I didn’t want
the drama of dealing with people I later learned that this type of work requires you to deal with and be surrounded by idiots I got fired within my probationary period for not doing things beyond my contract their justification was that I was too smart for the job it was a very cold wet and depressing time of my life going from Southeast Asia to miserable England where the best food I could get was a Subway sandwich and the most interesting people I would come across were on the TV I also later became depressed from a
lack of vitamin D and combine that with my heartbreak I was on the blink brink of depression reporting to my doctor that I was close to suicidal being in the UK felt like I was serving a prison sentence I won’t explain my entire CV to you but long story short I trained to be a web developer so I could be one of those free spirited digital Nomads the ones that hang out in cafes and co working spaces drinking the latest bullet coffee with coconut milk I didn’t enjoy the thankless tasks that were always being stacked upon me
Training for a New Career in Thailand
although I can cold well that training cost me 12 000 pounds and I ended up disliking the industry as there was always a developer from India or the Philippines who could do the job cheaper I attempted to turn those skills into being an affiliate marketer paying lots of money for the training course which was set in Bangkok I later learned that during a gold rush the person who makes the most money are the ones selling the shovel that mistake cost me six thousand pounds I spent ten thousand pounds learning to
trade crypto currencies it started well I gained fifteen thousand pounds and then the bubble burst and I lost everything I had gained fast forward to 2020 its reality hit me when I was one payday away from being homeless so I was forced to work at an Amazon warehouse it was night shifts at the newly built 100 million local fulfillment center and one of those interviews that was easy to pass for a reason you needed a heartbeat and you weren’t judged if you had six fingers on one hand a Facebook ad appeared and I had noticed
that UK government were paying I.T professionals to train to be a computer science teacher through bursaries and scholarships I had applied for a scholarship and had passed the interview with flying colors because of my tefl teaching experience a scholarship would pay you twenty eight thousand a year tax free and was equal to two thousand eight hundred pounds a month spread over 10 months they run the same program for maths science and languages it’s a government program to to provide a solution for the lack of teachers in
the UK I was accepted on the course to complete my pgce usually it would take about one year to gain qualified teacher status and you would have to work just one year as a newly qualified teacher but for some reason they extended it to two they must have seen me coming and put up the requirements for training to be a teacher from two years to three years so my dream was coming closer and moving away at the same time I kept my intentions of moving to Bangkok quiet and made sure that I had no plans to be one of those teachers who
spent their entire teaching life at the same school I think a teacher has been there too long when they teach a set of students and teach the children of those students in October 2022 I was in my final year of my qualifying period as a teacher and started to apply for jobs at International Schools ready for August 2023 I thought I would just sneak in a quick trip to Thailand and ended up visiting Cole Chang after passing through Bangkok it was a random guy at the bar who recommended the island to me those two

weeks in cold Chang were pure Bliss and would confirm my love for Thailand I was seriously consider considering buying some petrol powered chainsaws to build a log cabin in the deep forest of the island where the immigration officers could not find me then burn my British passport like the Spanish Armada would burn their ships I did the usual visits to Elephant Farms snake Farms party with a tourist and just laid in the sea to allow my hangover to just wash away I met many International School teachers on the island as we all share the same
half term not one single unhappy soul and one of them would ever return back to the UK to teach my magical trip had to come to a very sad and emotional end but the memories of the island will forever stay in my heart returning to the UK it’s the only airport I visit where I secretly wish that my flight would be canceled it’s always tearful being at the airport ready to go home while checking my emails I had been rejected for a job at a tier one international school which I had put so much effort into applying for
applying for international schools takes so much research and preparation often requiring a candidate to write a long tailored cover letter not only did I have to return to the dark cold and wet UK I was rejected with the reason the job has been filled returning to school as normal with the belief that I’m stuck in England telling kids off on a daily basis for doing crazy things to try to feel special I try to stay positive and would think back to my trip in Thailand how much money did I blow but it was worth it was worth it being a two week
millionaire December 2022 I had a surprising email from the school that had rejected me it read we were impressed with your CV and cover letter and would like to invite you in for an interview the head of the schools would fly into London and pay for your expenses just to interview you either somebody was trigger happy and accidentally rejected my online application or someone had changed their mind about me so I was super excited and prepared myself mentally listening to podcasts about International School interviews and
Story 3: Nadia, Phuket Massages and a Supernatural Mystery
that I’ve not had on the channel before it’s not too long so I’ll read it out and then and then we’ll end it there I don’t have any comments on it okay here’s a story I suspect is very different from what most people have heard in the past it starts in 2009 when I was 51 years old and married living in Australia I went to Phuket for eight days holiday to lie on the beach all day have a good cheap massage and enjoy lots of delicious Thai food I didn’t go to take the ladies as I was married and respected the marriage
however the eye candy is certainly quite nice I tried a few massage places the first few days but didn’t find anyone who did a good Thai massage after a few days I found a place with a girl with a girl called Nadia who did a good time massage so I went there for a massage each day after the beach I had a good timeline on the beach all day swimming a massage after the beach a nice dinner walk on the beach at night it was a good relaxing holiday I’m no newcomer to Thailand as I visited about four or five times prior when I
was in my 20s and single so was at least a little bit experience with Thailand and the girls in 2011 two years later I returned to Phuket to enjoy another holiday and do the same as I had done two years earlier because of my job I had four holidays a year all the school holidays my wife was okay well all with all of this as she trusted me she didn’t really like the Heat and like to keep working I didn’t expect to see Nadia again as I knew the girls come and go and move around quite a lot but she was still there working at the same massage shop
Returning to Phuket and Giving Nadia Money
so because I knew she did a good massage I went to her every day after the beach rather than look around trying to find other places where many of them were not proper masseuse most people would be aware it’s common to tip 50 to 100 back for a massage girl which is what I did for Nadia another good relaxing holiday was had six months later in 2011 and I returned again and did the same it wasn’t too long and she started coming out with her stories of poverty and family family issues and needed money for this and money for that
like they do although I’d heard them all before and I was aware of these stories I find myself giving her tips of a thousand bar even two thousand bar and sometimes five thousand Baht before I would leave to return to Australia and even though there was no aerobics happening it was like what she asked for I gave like I was being controlled Upon returning to Australia I I would feel very drained and lifeless and strange feelings and also not happy that I had given her large amounts of money without any aerobics happening I better not go
anymore well that didn’t work between 2011 and 2016 I went to Phuket about 12 times I saw Nadia for massage and all the time gave her thousands of bar every time I vowed to never do this again it was either late in 2011 or 2012 I began to experience weird Supernatural out of this world experiences while home in Australia much of it very hard to describe feelings of my soul being joint and ideas seeing psychic images strange things happen in Thailand without being there or reading about it seem very clear ghosts of black birds flying
around I had many years of absolute hell seen doctors psychologists and counselors spiritual healers and visiting several month monks both in Australia and Thailand with no one really being able to help me my wife and I and some volunteer workers in some of the temples in Australia they suspected black magic had been placed on me in 2016 I put this to Nadia which she bluntly denied she then returned to her hometown in isan and I have not seen her since although Nadia was no longer in Phuket I still felt the need to return
there and continue to go another seven times until late 2019 just before the pandemic started and closed everything in late 2019 I was chatting with a work colleague about my Thailand story and they were extremely interested not quite sure how to take all the weird Supernatural stuff but they said they had an open mind and listened intensely they told me their cousin was married to a Thai lady in Australia and they were very close to her so they would talk to her about my story and get back to me she rang me the very next day to tell me
The Claimed Voodoo Spell
it was very clear from my description of everything that had happened to me that I was the victim of a voodoo spell she described in detail what would have been done to me Nadia would get some of my fingernail clippings some of my hair my name date of birth I thought one go to some person who would mix my hair and nails and nadias into molding clay and mold two dollars out of it one is me and one is Nadia they label them with date of birth photo and any other identifying properties and then press them together
and bind them together with twine this ritual is carried out in a cemetery the monk men performs some ritual with chanting and calling on dark spirits to assist in joining the two together and then digs a hole and buries the two dolls tied together in the ground where he knows dark spirits will look after them in Australia I regularly go for a massage as well as one Thai massage place I go to I ask my regular masseur who is also from isan and who I feel I can trust about this spell in Thailand she told me she knows this spell has
seen it done and knows it is fact done to people in Thailand it all made sense many of you would know that a lot of massage places in Phuket also do nails and haircuts Nadia had persistently smooth talked me into having a manicure at her massage shop and also sweet talked me into going to her friend’s hairdressing shop for a haircut where she accompanied me to look for look nice for my holiday so she had my hair my nail clippings a photo my date of birth all the ingredients she needed the next few years were still very tough the
pandemic provided a force break from returning to Thailand which was probably a good thing still to this day I do not know conclusively exactly what happened was I the victim of some powerful spell did I know Nadia from the past life I was never a believer in the other side before this this experience has changed that and changed me forever I have been woken up and I now know the the other side is very real I hope this is a rare and isolated incident because I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy it would be
better to enjoy a Thai girl for a while lose all your life savings and your house just like the usual stories then go then to go through this on the upside I still have my house my savings my wife although things got difficult for a while she stuck with me all the way I just lost 10 years of my life
