Story 1 Handbag Left Behind in Phuket

Story 1 Handbag Left Behind in Phuket

I’ve been a frequent visitor to the Land of Smiles since the year 2000. Here’s a positive story from one of those trips in 2017 when I was 36.

I was in a short relationship with Yanhee a girl from my local area I met through my sister. Yanhee was from a Korean background but grew up in Australia. She was a spontaneous girl enjoyed travel and drink. We had only been seeing each other for a few weeks when she decided on a whim to take a trip to Singapore and Phuket.

Our time in Singapore and the first few days and nights in Phuket were a lot of fun and went well. On about the fourth evening in Phuket Yanhee called me out for looking a little too much at a Thai waitress when we were at dinner. She wasn’t wrong to be honest I was having a proper look. Yanhee definitely had that jealous streak Asian girls are known for. So being told off led to the silent treatment which I have no patience for. An argument broke out on the street as we left the restaurant.

Somehow I smoothed it over. We kissed and made up. I suggested it was a good time to get wildly drunk and try and forget what happened. As I said to Yanhee I enjoy drink. So we hit the hut style bars in the OTOP complex. We bounced from one bar to another having fun with the bar staff and other tourists playing the hit the nail game Connect Four pool and so on.

Yanhee had this habit of leaving her bag or purse with me anytime she’d duck off to the ladies’ room. She knew it annoyed me which is why she continued to do it. I was usually too tipsy of an evening to be trusted with someone else’s possessions.

We wound up at one of the old T Pub bars where we took control of the YouTube music stream and got even more drunk as we sang at the top of our lungs. While at this bar Yanhee placed her bag on the barstool next to me excused herself and went looking for the ladies’ room in this large open bar area.

5 minutes in the toilet led to 10 then 15 then 25. I called her phone a few times but it just rang out. I was genuinely nervous something had happened to her. So I paid our bill said goodnight to the bar staff and went looking for Yanhee. She wasn’t anywhere around the washrooms. I asked every passerby if they had seen her. I spent about 1 hour looking for her admittedly I was drunk myself.

I decided to return to the hotel to see if she was there. She was just dozing off in our super king sized bed. She told me she had been sick when she made it to the washrooms but when she returned to the bar I was gone because I was off looking for her. We weren’t mad at each other just relieved we were both okay.

Around 930 the next morning we both woke up with pounding headaches. I asked Yanhee if she had anything for a headache. She said “Of course it’s in my handbag.” At that moment I realized I had left Yanhee’s bag containing her credit cards cash phone and passport on a barstool late at night in Thailand.

The trip is ruined and things are about to get complicated and expensive. Or not.

I have never sobered up so fast in my life. I slipped on my shorts and t shirt and ran as fast as I could to the bar we were at the night before which was only a few sois away. It was right on 1000 a.m. and the lady manager was just setting up the bar for the day. As I got closer she looked up a big smile came across her face she reached under the bar and presented me with Yanhee’s handbag. Nothing was missing.

Listen our holiday was saved thanks to the honest good nature of the bar staff in Phuket that night.

PS Yanhee and I broke up 3 days after returning to Australia. We had fun but were not a great match.

A great little story there. So that’s something that happens quite a lot here in Thailand. People assume that everybody here in Thailand is going to rip you off if they have the opportunity. You know there’s a lot of stories on the internet about guys getting scammed ladies getting scammed and I’m as guilty as the rest of them. I’ve made those kind of videos. But generally speaking I’ve known a lot of times where people have left things in taxis or in bars like this guy or they’ve dropped things.

I remember I dropped a wallet years ago and a guy came running up behind me tapped me on the shoulder and gave me the wallet. I couldn’t believe it. Another example was I was staying at that time in the Omni Tower this was about 20 years ago Omni Tower on Soi 4. I had one of those bum bags you know that you wear on the front. I had 20000 baht in the front of it. And I don’t know why I did it I was waiting for the elevator and it was zipped up and I was kind of swinging it I thought it was zipped up. Got to the room didn’t think anything of it didn’t look at it or anything. About half an hour later I looked in the bag and there was no money. And of course I went into panic mode.

And just as I was doing that the phone rang in my room and it was reception and a young guy on reception said “Could Peter have you lost any money?” I went racing downstairs. He asked me how much it was and I told him it was 20000 baht by the lift. And he actually handed it over to me. He called the cleaner who had found it. Obviously I gave her a thousand baht to thank her. But you know generally speaking the Thais are quite honest. And it’s a misconception if you think all Thais are thieves it’s just not true.

Now when you go into the entertainment areas like the bar scene Soi Cowboy Nana Plaza that’s a completely different story. Okay but generally speaking most Thais are pretty honest.

    Story 2 Hotel Safe Theft

    Story 2 Hotel Safe Theft

I attached one picture of the night when I met Achara for the first time for your eyes only. On the left side is Bun at the back is my best friend James on the right side is my sister and in the middle you can see me and Achara.

I also want to share the video with you of my Thai wedding ceremony and tell you a short story about the sin sod and how we almost lost €7000.

(Just in case you don’t know guys just cutting in here a sin sod is like a dowry.)

I married my wife in Germany in 2015 and it was important for her to have a ceremony with her family as well. The family wanted to show that I can take care of their only daughter so I should bring as much money as I could but they would give it back to me after the ceremony.

I was working full time but my wife was still learning to be a kindergarten teacher so our income was limited. The wedding alone wasn’t cheap so I asked my parents and my friend Joe to borrow money. The gold for the sin sod came from my wife’s family but we pretended that I gave it to her as well.

As we arrived in Thailand a few days before the wedding my wife’s brother got a baby girl and my wife visited him in Bangkok. I stayed with my parents in Hua Hin because it wasn’t far from the wedding location. We stayed at the Stin Loft Hua Hin.

    Missing 400 Euros

    Missing 400 Euros

My father kept all the money we had and put it in the safe exactly €7000 in banknotes. The first day we took a car and drove along the coast and came back in the afternoon. I was in my room when my dad called me to come over. He said that money is missing from the envelope. I asked him where we kept it and he said in the safe. I counted it and it was true from the 7000 we had in there only 6600 was left. We were shocked.

Our rooms were cleaned and the doors were locked so we could only imagine that the cleaning staff had something to do with it. We went to the lobby and complained and asked them to give us the money back. They didn’t react and we went to the normal police station to file a report. Some police officers came with us to the hotel and talked to the cleaning lady and the hotel worker. We went to check the CCTV footage of our floor but the camera was offline and there was no footage of that day. The police didn’t even ask for the ID of the cleaning lady.

The police told us not directly that it had happened before and they couldn’t do much. They said they would send someone for fingerprints the next day. Ha ha you guessed it no one came.

We decided to stay in the hotel for one more night. I seriously don’t know why maybe shock and the stress from the upcoming wedding ceremony. We were scared that night because the thief knew we had more money with us but nothing happened. We checked out the next day but noticed the cleaning staff were different to the day before.

In the end we were super lucky that they had only taken €400 and not the full envelope. After that incident I checked the reviews on TripAdvisor and there are multiple reports of the same tactic they never take the full amount but only a few banknotes so the owner doesn’t always notice.

I just wanted to tell you that story because I heard you talk about the safety of a hotel house and say that the safe is normally safe. I still think you’re right but I learned to always be careful. Usually I wouldn’t carry that much money with me anyway.

    Wedding Money Scandal

    Wedding Money Scandal

The first thing I’d say on that story is maybe it would have been a good idea to check on TripAdvisor before you actually went to go and stay in the hotel. But you know we all make mistakes.

Still to this day I’ve never known a hotel staff to get into a safe in a room and steal money. I’m not saying it never happened to this guy he wouldn’t have written the story otherwise but I’ve never experienced it. I’ve always found that if you leave the money in the hotel safe it’s perfectly safe no pun intended.

Story 3 The Girl Who Lied

Story 3 The Girl Who Lied

My story starts in 2022 around the time the travel restrictions started to ease and you could travel with a negative test and one night quarantine to ensure you weren’t positive when you arrived. I was free to roam Bangkok in the morning walking taking on all the new smells and the exhausting heat. I found myself at a 7 Eleven in the Asok area asking for directions when a beautiful Thai lady approached me.

Her name was Noi and she said she knew the hotel I was asking about. She said “Would you like me to help you find it?” Once she returned to her apartment next door with food for her friends she told me to wait in the coffee shop next to the 7 Eleven. So I did just that. Not sure if she was going to return or not I said to myself I would give it 5 minutes while I charged my phone a little.

She finally arrived and we got talking. She told me she was 31 years old and was originally from Phuket. Eventually we found my location on Google Maps. She asked me if I would like to join her in a couple of hours for some drinks. She helped me download the Line app on my phone and we exchanged details. While outside we hailed a taxi and she spoke to the driver in Thai ensuring he would use the meter. We said goodbye and I was on my way to my hotel.

Later that day we made contact and I was close to telling her that I didn’t want to go out with her although I ended up giving it a shot. We met up somewhere I cannot remember and we ended up in the Day and Night Bar in Soi Nana. I was a rookie when it came to Thailand although I thought I was a pro from all the videos and stories I had watched and read.

While walking past a store she stopped and started looking at shoes. She asked me which she should get. I replied “Get both. I will pay for them.” It was about 20 Australian dollars which I considered not a lot of money at the time. Rookie move I know now.

And this is where it all went downhill. She instantly hugged and kissed me on the cheek and her excitement was crazy. After a couple of drinks and a little too much heat we ended up back at my hotel where I wasn’t sure what to expect. She had a shower and laid down next to me in my bed with nothing but a towel around her. I knew no normal traditional Thai lady would act like this but I was blinded by the lack of affection I had been shown in the last few years.

    The First Meeting

    The First Meeting

No aerobics happened but we did speak about her daughter and pretty soon she told me how she needed 20000 baht for her schooling and asked me could I help. I knew what she was doing. I didn’t say yes. I told her I would think about it.

We went back to a nightclub enjoying the night getting a little tipsy and back to the hotel and yes some aerobics. Waking up together the following morning I didn’t know what to expect. She said “Would I like to do something?” So we went outside.

12 days later she was still with me treating me like a king but spending my money as if she had earned it herself. By this time I was pretty much falling in love with her even though she was spending a lot of my money. But it was soon time for me to leave Thailand.

We were sitting in a bar at lunchtime when she told me she didn’t want me to leave as she now loved me. During our conversations a lot of things came out and I found out her real age she was older than she had originally told me. I still didn’t believe her so I asked her to see her ID. When she eventually showed it to me the name she had given me was totally different to what was on her ID card.

Before leaving Thailand I made it very clear to her that I wouldn’t be sending her any money from Australia but when I returned to Thailand I would look after her. But this didn’t stop the constant requests for money every time we spoke on the phone.

When I returned to Thailand 4 months later her attitude was completely different to when I’d originally met her. She was always angry. She would find a reason to argue with me and would constantly try to start arguments. She even became violent at times. The whole situation was just different.

    Painful Lesson

    Painful Lesson

When she was with me at night she would leave first thing in the morning every day not like before. And when she did stay overnight she was constantly on her phone and not interested in aerobics at all. She would wake me up at 400 or 500 in the morning laughing with friends on the phone. I couldn’t get any rest. I was getting really sick of it. Sometimes I would wake up very very early to go to the toilet and she wasn’t in the room at all she had already left.

Now you have to remember she was after all a professional working girl. I came to this conclusion and realized I couldn’t do a lot about it. So I told her “While you’re with me you don’t text other guys and I want to see your phone and I will let you see mine.” She insisted that I put a photograph of us on my Facebook page because she was insanely jealous. How crazy is that? Well she’s obviously seen lots of other guys for a living. I said I’d do it if she put the same picture on her Facebook profile but she refused and told me that I will never meet her family.

In the end I had had enough and told her I wasn’t interested in seeing her anymore because of her stupid lies. She decided this was a good time to confess all and told me she was going back to her ex boyfriend who lives in Bangkok and she has several rich sponsors who send her money every month. I don’t know if that was true or she was just trying to get back at me. Probably 50/50.

Shortly after that I left to go to Australia. I had no bad feelings against this girl she was playing the game. I was a typical first time sucker in Thailand. I actually went to a couple of soapy massages before leaving for Australia which made me feel much better.

One thing I’d like to say on this story a lot of guys don’t understand is when they go with a girl from a bar you know she’s working. You know what I mean by working for a living. That girl will get insanely and intensely jealous if you even look at another girl but yet this girl is working you know what she’s doing for a living. And a lot of guys don’t understand this like “Well how can she be jealous of me?” because you know she’s doing this all the time.

The short answer is really she’s just trying to protect her cash cow. That’s what it boils down to. She knows that while you’re with her she’s going to make money. She doesn’t want you to go off with one of her colleagues. Right? That’s the only reason. It comes across as jealousy but she’s just trying to protect her income that’s the word I was looking for.

Story 4 The Text That Ruined Everything

Story 4 The Text That Ruined Everything

I first went to Thailand in 2012 as a 27 year old. I had just broken up with a Thai girl who was living and studying in Sydney but had never been to Thailand before. I had planned the trip to go with her but after we broke up I decided to go alone which was very new and scary for me as I’d always traveled with a group of friends.

I had an absolute blast. I just loved going out meeting people from around the world. I would go to the beer bars almost every day and never once felt lonely. There was always someone to have a beer with and if not the bar girls would always be entertaining with either flirting or playing pool. You know what it’s like.

In my job I get six weeks’ holiday per year so I’d split them into two lots of three weeks and go twice a year between 2012 and 2017. I just loved the place but especially Pattaya.

In 2017 I decided that I wanted to spend more time there and live there for about 18 months. I saved I lived in a tiny little flat in Sydney I worked my backside off I worked all the overtime I could and I had just about 2 or 3 days off a month. I managed to save about $50000 Australian dollars and planned to live cheaply in Thailand work on my fitness and basically have a chilled lifestyle for a while. I also planned on finding a bit of work to help pay for everyday expenses by either doing some English teaching making videos or even finding something online.

So it was early 2018 when I sold everything that I had which wasn’t much and I just had a suitcase of clothes and a few other essentials. That’s all I had. I also had spent the last 18 months working out at the gym. I had a pretty good physique and was at the prime of my life.

I landed in Bangkok it was about midnight jumped into a taxi and just asked him to take me to Nana for 300 baht to which he accepted. He asked me which hotel. I replied “I don’t have one yet. I’ll work something out later.” To which we laughed. I’ll never forget this driver we chatted the whole trip.

    The Hangover Moment

    The Hangover Moment

I got to The Stumble Inn Bar at about 100 a.m. and was too excited for sleep and decided to drink the night away before looking for a place to stay in the morning. It was a fun night and as the sun came up a nice young lady offered a massage. This was a great opportunity to kill a few hours before I’d start looking at hotel options. As soon as I laid down I basically fell asleep for a few hours on the table. I woke up and there was no one around so I left with my suitcase. I felt awful as I had not paid the girl for her services but managed to find her that night and gave her the money and a large tip for looking after me and my suitcase that had all my money in it.

After a few days of drinking and entertaining the ladies the pace noise and hustle of Bangkok was getting a bit annoying and I decided to get the big blue bus to Pattaya where I searched for a monthly apartment. I had a budget of about 15000 baht a month. I looked at about seven different places. It seemed to me the modern ones were nice but very small so I opted for an older one just near Tree Town that was very old but was very big with a great big balcony and a view of Soi Buakhao for just over my budget at 18000 baht a month. It was also very close to Tony’s Gym which I planned on visiting just about every day.

So a few weeks passed and I was still partying and drinking every day. I was eating Thai food from the streets and cheap restaurants and never had a problem. After a few more weeks I started feeling rundown and anxious and started realizing that I was overdoing it on the booze. I had been drinking every day for a month. My muscle tone was rapidly fading away and I was getting a beer belly. I had even begun smoking while drinking. Basically I had let the city of seven Saturdays a week get the better of me and was finding it hard to do something else other than going to bars and drinking.

I decided that I should move away from temptation for a while. I had an old friend who lived just outside Jomtien so I got a little place near there. I told myself that I need to get fit again and cut down on the booze. This plan worked pretty well. I managed to get fitter only had beers twice a week and life was looking up again.

I met a lovely Thai girl who was a lawyer who was on a weekend getaway. She was 28 and very beautiful. I was in love instantly. I stayed in Jomtien and would visit her and stay with her on weekends. She owned her own brand new condo. We got on really well and we even went to visit her parents in Hua Hin a few times. They were quite financially comfortable not rich by any means but comfortable.

I had this amazing girl who had a great job and who loved me very much and I decided to move in with her. I would pay her monthly mortgage payments which were cheaper than most guesthouses would charge for a month. So I had done a few visa runs to Singapore a city I really love and was just enjoying my life. I had been really good with my money but it was in need of some replenishment. I had about $5000 Australian dollars left.

    Pattaya Message Discovery

    Pattaya Message Discovery

Me and my girlfriend decided that it would be a good idea for me to go back to Australia and work for about 6 months save $20000 that would last me about another year in Thailand. So I lined up a job with my old company and planned to head back to Sydney.

I decided to visit my friend in Jomtien a few days before my flight to say goodbye for 6 months. We hit the bars in Pattaya. He started buying shots and we got wasted. I don’t remember too much of that night but I woke up to my girlfriend’s call and realized there was a girl asleep next to me. I had taken a bar girl back to my hotel. The hangover was horrendous but the guilt was sickening.

I ignored the call from my girlfriend and laid there for about an hour thinking about what I should do. The girl next to me woke up and went to the shower and wow she was a stunner. The room was a mess with bottles and glasses everywhere. I went to the balcony where there was my friend and another bar girl asleep. It was really like the day after scene from the movie The Hangover. We all went out for breakfast and we said goodbye to the girls.

I felt terrible for my girlfriend and decided that I should not tell her what happened we had a really good life set up as she one day wanted to live in Australia. We had discussed living in Thailand and Australia together and I didn’t want to ruin her or my dreams.

The next day we were in bed together. It was the day before I left. We were just watching random YouTube clips on my phone. A text popped up on my phone from the bar girl from Pattaya. It said “I miss you” with a photo of her in a very sexy pose.

As you can guess my girlfriend was distraught. The next day I flew back to Australia. It was February 2020. I started my job in Sydney and I would spend all day texting her begging for her forgiveness. She replied sometimes. She never officially broke up with me.

    Relationship Fallout

    Relationship Fallout

So the pandemic was now in full swing and I can’t get back to Thailand. To this day we still talk and I still hope that one day she will forgive me and the world will open up and we can live our lives together.

Obviously this is a little bit of an older story that I’ve pulled up from the past. But one of the questions that people ask me quite frequently they’ll say “Why don’t you live in Pattaya? It’s a lot cheaper than Bangkok” because I live in Bangkok. And one of the reasons is just because of what happened to this guy. There’s just too much temptation down there. You know I am strong willed but I don’t want to get into a situation that I regret. And as you’ve seen from this guy hopefully he got back together with her after the pandemic.

    Story 5 The Second iPhone

    Story 5 The Second iPhone

I am 57 now and have been traveling both privately and with work since I was 16 starting together with my older brother. Anyway I wouldn’t say I’m new to traveling but I had never visited Thailand before.

Early 2017 I was about to go visit a friend and do a road trip on motorbikes. But just before our trip to his house in Hua Hin he had a minor accident in Europe so he was in no shape to go there. I had my ticket and decided to go see Bangkok by myself.

I was in Bangkok for a few days. I found Nana Plaza right away and had a nice time there. One evening I met a guy who told me about an even better place called Pattaya. He said “Let’s head down there together.” Not long after we were in a taxi heading down to Pattaya. Once we arrived in Pattaya I was left alone my new friend had gone to meet his friends but hadn’t invited me. I didn’t have a clue where I was in the city. I ended up alone on Second Road but found a small comfortable hotel very easily and checked in.

After a good night’s sleep and a look around the next day I went to Central Festival and I bumped into the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen. She was working there. I asked her if she’d come to dinner with me and she accepted. At the time I was 50 years old but looked younger than my age and I was fit with no beer belly yet.

Chatting away at dinner she told me that she had a university degree. She had no tattoos that I could see and she was born locally. My first impressions of her were that she was very nice. After dinner I asked her if she would like to come and have a few drinks with me in a bar. She told me she never drinks alcohol and she would never be seen in a bar.

I ended up in Soi 7. I went into a bar and was immediately surrounded by lots of pretty girls. I couldn’t stop thinking about the girl I had had dinner with. I was kind of infatuated or in love with her already.

    Marriage Trust Breakdown

    Marriage Trust Breakdown

The next day I decided to hit the local gym for a workout and I had a nice walk along Beach Road. Later in the day I got to Walking Street and I could hear all the commotion with girls screaming from the beer bar complexes. I didn’t head into Walking Street. Instead I decided to go back to my hotel with the intention of hitting some beer bars later that evening.

So later that evening I headed to an area of beer bars that had Thai boxing in the middle. I was invited into the ring for a friendly boxing match with a Thai guy who I’m guessing was half my weight and considerably shorter than me. He promised not to hurt me so I thought “Why not?” Once in the ring this little guy hammered me. I only lasted 5 minutes so I thought it’s safer to get out and have a beer instead.

Stepping out of the ring very sweaty lots of girls clapping for me my phone suddenly rings. It was the girl I’d had dinner with yesterday. She told me that she had packed in her job and she would like to meet me again. She had installed the Line app onto my phone so was able to contact me.

I was very happy to meet her again and we had another nice dinner. Afterwards we went back to my hotel and she stayed for the night. I had really fallen in love with this girl very very quickly.

I had only checked into my hotel for three days but decided to extend my stay for 10 days so that I could spend the rest of my holiday with this girl. We moved into the Siam Siam Hotel but to be honest it was too far from the fun part of town.

My 10 days continued as my first. I tried different bars every night but always ended up with my new girlfriend after she finished work at her new job. When I returned home and went back to work I just couldn’t stop thinking about this girl. So I decided to head back to Thailand. It was now 2017.

    Greed and Consequences

    Greed and Consequences

Once I was back in Thailand we spent quite a bit of time with her family. She never asked me for anything but I paid for meals and bought her small gifts not because she asked me to but because I wanted to. Just some cheap beautiful dresses because I liked to see them on her and it was very small money.

Life continued like this. I stayed longer and longer each time. One time I stayed for 6 months. We traveled to Vietnam Laos and explored Thailand. She came to visit me in Europe on a tourist visa. She asked me if we could get married. Of course I said yes I loved her I was so happy. So we married. We applied for a permanent visa for her in Europe.

Early 2019 I decided to go back to Europe to assist my mother who had had two operations back to back. We bought a little apartment in the same city as my mother and we also have a very nice home in Spain. We traveled around Europe and took care of my mother.

Suddenly in early 2020 this pandemic hit and we were stuck in Europe in our new apartment in a small town close to where my mother lives. This is an hour from the capital which meant we were in for a very boring few months but Spain never suffered any real strict lockdowns like the rest of Europe.

About this time out of the blue I became quite sick. My legs and feet became swollen and at Christmas I really thought I might die I was in very bad shape. In February 2021 I was diagnosed with cancer and had two operations. The latest one was in April. I’m now getting better and better and these days I’m back at the gym again but I’m not in the same shape as before.

I feel so happy that I met the right Thai girl who supported me throughout my sickness. She’s made many friends here in Germany and sometimes has the odd night out with her girlfriends. She now also has a permanent visa and is currently studying learning the language.

    The Final Confrontation

    The Final Confrontation

One day she appeared to act slightly differently not a lot but I noticed it and asked her what was wrong. She said nothing.

Then I found a second iPhone when she was out. I looked at the phone. It was exactly the same as her regular iPhone but there were lots of messages in Thai on it. I took it to a friend that I trust to have her translate the messages for me. I don’t understand Thai at all so whenever my wife talked with her friends in Thailand I recorded what she was saying in Thai on my phone and sent the recordings to my friend for translation.

We were both shocked about what she was talking about. She was talking about staying with me until she received her passport then she would be looking to meet other guys. She was also planning to meet older guys in shopping malls and Thai restaurants and those sorts of places with a view to them paying her money that she could use to go back and forth to Thailand.

At this point I didn’t let on to her that I knew anything for a while. I just gathered evidence by keeping these recordings and having them translated. But eventually I confronted her. I spoke to her in a very calm way and told her I knew what she had been speaking about for weeks. And of course she denied everything.

So I played back the recordings to her and told her I’d had them translated. She started to scream at me and told me that I should understand that she needs a younger man and a passport and she had to send money home to her family. And on top of that she told me I hadn’t given her enough money to send back to her family.

So much for my loving caring wife. She has just signed the divorce papers and will move out but doesn’t realize she’ll get nothing as she signed an agreement when we got married.

    Lessons Learned

    Lessons Learned

The translator told me that my wife had planned this from the start and she was speaking with other friends who were doing the same thing. This was definitely a targeted operation that they’d been doing for years. I’ve lost a lot of money but it hasn’t cleared me out and I’ve now learned a lot.

When my wife realized she wouldn’t get anything from me she started working in a Thai massage shop in the city and now sells herself nightly as she doesn’t want to return to Thailand. She went to a lawyer and told him she didn’t understand the agreement that she signed at the beginning of the marriage but I’d had it translated into Thai as well so she got nowhere with this scam.

She will be 34 in October and now works full time in the massage shop earning money by servicing different men daily. I later discovered that one of my grown up son’s friends had been chatting with my wife on Snapchat after they met on Tinder. A local bar owner who I’m friends with also contacted me and told me a story about her with another man but by this time she had already left so I wasn’t bothered.

To bring a girl to Europe is an investment. Everything costs you double. Your girlfriend will arrive with almost nothing so you have to buy her everything again. She left a full wardrobe behind 10 pairs of shoes and boots dresses jeans beautiful expensive coats and so on. Upon arriving in Europe you have to sign documents that state you promised to take care of all of her financial needs for at least a year. At least I didn’t lose everything as I had an agreement in place or I would now be very poor.

Her family had supposedly been taking care of our business in Pattaya. I checked my wife hadn’t read an email in over 6 months.
