Phuket Low Season Prices for Flights Hotels and Nightlife
Low-season domestic flights can make Phuket surprisingly affordable. The recorded return fare from Bangkok to Phuket was about 1,600 Thai Baht, and the flight took roughly one hour. In this case, the airfare was even cheaper than the taxi ride from home to the airport. Fares vary, but comparing the two airports and booking dates can make a significant difference.
Phuket Airport Transport to Patong
Phuket Airport has several onward options, including public buses, taxis, car rental and minibuses. The journey to Patong was expected to take around one to one and a half hours, depending on traffic. Once you arrive, it is worth comparing the available transport rather than choosing the first option outside the terminal.
Patong Hotel Prices in Low and High Season
A hotel near Bangla Road and Jungceylon was booked for about 1,000 Thai Baht per night with breakfast during low season. The location was around a five-minute walk from the nightlife area and the mall. The same room could rise to roughly 3,000 to 4,000 Thai Baht with breakfast in high season, so the season matters as much as the hotel itself.
Patong Hotel Room, Pool and Nearby Facilities
The room had a pool view, balcony, large bed, couch, workspace, television, bathtub, shower and air conditioning. The hotel also offered a swimming pool and gym, with a 7-Eleven nearby. For the low-season price, the room was described as clean, spacious and comfortable, although the experience should be judged against the season and the rate paid.
Food, Massage and Evening Prices in Patong
A meal with rice, shrimp and papaya salad was recorded at about 380 Thai Baht. A one-hour oil massage cost around 300 Thai Baht, and happy-hour beers were about 80 Thai Baht each. Patong has many restaurants and massage shops, so prices can change by location, service and time of day.
Rainy Season Beach Conditions in September
September brought on-and-off rain, wind, cloudy skies and quieter beaches. Patong could still be enjoyable when the rain stopped, but swimming was not safe when a red warning flag was flying. The weather described here is typical of a low-season visit rather than a promise of constant sunshine, and conditions can change quickly between the airport, hotel and beach.
Patong Nightlife Costs and Indoor Alternatives
Patong nightlife was described as more expensive than nightlife in some other parts of Thailand. Rain could arrive repeatedly, making indoor activities such as restaurants, massage and hotel facilities useful alternatives. The low-season advantage was less crowding and lower accommodation costs, while the trade-off was unpredictable weather and fewer ideal beach or boat-trip conditions.
Leaving Phuket for Bangkok on the Smart Bus
This is it. It’s time to say goodbye to Phuket and go to Bangkok. After staying here for two nights to meet a friend, I thought we would have some fun, but I was surprised by how different Phuket feels these days. I’m going to share some of my thoughts about Phuket and the things you should know if you are visiting soon.
Bangla Walking Street feels totally different during the day and at night. There is a big fight tomorrow night, but unfortunately, I won’t be here then. The Phuket Smart Bus to the airport is already here, so I’m heading out from Patong Beach.
Pushy Services Cheap Flights and Phuket Airport
The most annoying thing is the service, which feels kind of pushy these days because there are not too many tourists. Still, it is good for people who don’t like crowded places.
If you are booking cheap domestic flights, Travel Loca is a good site for finding cheap flights in Thailand. The early flights are mostly very cheap. I booked my flight from Bangkok to Phuket and from Phuket to Bangkok for only 1,900 Thai Baht. The problem with these cheap flights is that you only have 7 kg of carry-on luggage, and you have to pay if you take more.
Phuket International Airport was quite busy. I still had 40 minutes to board, and it was time to say goodbye to Phuket.
Phuket Nightlife Feels Slower and More Expensive
I know many of you are worried about the nighttime vibes. Most pubs and bars are open, but the action is too slow. As I said in the beginning, it is not fun. Patong Phuket Walking Street is changing: more people are walking and wandering around, while the bars are kind of empty. Prices are okay and depend on the place, but all in all, Bangkok night vibes are much better.
There are a couple of major facts making Phuket like this. First, the low season is a normal factor. Second, the war messed up everything, and a lot of people cancelled their vacations; I have some friends who did that. Third, the news about the latest security issues in Phuket makes people think twice. Fourth, although I mentioned the positive points, things are getting expensive. This was the calmest I have experienced since the pandemic.
Domestic Flight Delays and the Journey Back to Bangkok
Domestic flights in Thailand are often delayed, so always consider the time if you have a connection, especially an international flight. Give yourself at least three hours between flights.
Welcome to Bangkok. After you leave the airport, follow the sign for the SRT Red Line if you want public transportation. I took the SRT Red Line to Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal, the biggest station for trains. You can take long-distance trains from here, but I exchanged for the MRT underground train to go into the city.
After a long day from one airport to another, I was back in Bangkok. I was going to eat something in Terminal 21 and continue my journey home. No problem. As long as Bangkok is okay, I am okay. Welcome back again.
A Slow Start in Patong and a 240 Thai Baht Taxi to Central Phuket
Today, I was leaving Patong for Central Phuket. I had some work to do there, and after that I wanted to shop in one of the best places for promotional items. If you are into shopping, this is for you, and later we were going to have lunch.

The taxi ride from Patong to Central Phuket took around 30 minutes and cost only 240 Thai Baht. I was waiting in the wrong spot, but a very nice lady picked me up. The weather was beautiful, and Central Phuket Festival was our first stop.
@work at Central Phuket for Quiet Work and Fast Wi-Fi
I needed a quiet space with fast internet to do some work. I could not find a place like that in Patong, so I went to @work on the third floor of Central Phuket. I was very happy to discover it because I often come to Phuket, want to work, and need a private place with a very fast internet connection.
The main entrance uses a QR code after you book. I booked online and was not expecting such a beautiful view. There were small, medium, and large meeting rooms for five, seven, and 11 people. You press the QR code, and everything you need is inside.
I booked one chair, F04. Once I checked in, I received the Wi-Fi password, and everything was self-service. The view made it even better. They have an official website with the booking options, so it was easy to choose what I needed. Then it was time to work for a while and enjoy the view.
Shopping and Lunch at Central Phuket
Shopping, eating, and working were all in the same place. Work and lifestyle were combined together, and I was amazed by how many affordable things there were in Phuket. Once you are in town, it feels like shopping in Bangkok.
One item was only 299 Thai Baht, and a complete set was less than 500 Thai Baht. I liked the funky colours because they would be good for the beach, and next week we were going to Pattaya for a tropical event. Another item cost 596 Thai Baht, cheaper than my coffee in the morning.
The place was crowded, with lots of people and plenty of food options. After lunch, I ordered a taxi back to Patong. It cost only 200 Thai Baht, so I could put my shopping away and continue the day. The weather was still amazing.
Returning to Patong for a Massage and the Sunset
— Welcome back to Patong. In the morning, it had been almost empty and still sleeping. Now it was Patong again, full of life. Going to Central Phuket had been a good decision because I had a productive, enjoyable few hours and did everything I needed to do.
We returned to our lovely hotel, and after a shower and a change of clothes, we went back outside. You would not believe how hot it was. When the weather is hot, a good massage session is the first option, so that was what we did.
By 5:35, the afternoon had softened, and it was the best time to catch the sunset atmosphere. We watched the sun go down with our hands tied together. — Baby, this is the sunset.
Rooftop Cocktails to Finish a Full Phuket Day
After the sunset, we went to a beautiful rooftop bar for cocktails. It was a relaxed way to finish a full day that had started in a quiet Patong, continued with work and shopping at Central Phuket, and ended with a massage, sunset views, and drinks above the city.
We did not care much about tomorrow. For the moment, the day had been enough.
