Assault on a British Tourist on Jomtien Beach

A Thai man has been detained after assaulting a 70-year-old British tourist on Jomtien Beach. the 70-year-old British man was injured in an altercation on Jomtien Beach on Thursday after an argument with a Thai man who was later detained by police. m.

on September 3rd near Jomtien Soi 10. At the scene, they found Mr. Anton 70, a British national, with facial swelling and bruising.

He received first aid at the scene before being taken to a local hospital. Nearby was a Thai man who was not immediately identified by police, estimated to be about 35 years old, who told officers the British man may have been connected to a missing motorcycle and that he had come just to question him, claiming to have some evidence. But police said the Thai man‘s account remained unclear.

And they also noted that he appeared heavily intoxicated, drawing some skepticism over the entire situation.

Police Pursue and Detain the Suspect

Meanwhile, witnesses and preliminary closed circuit television footage showed the Thai man approaching the British man who was sitting with a friend. After a conversation, a scuffle broke out. Footage indicated a Thai man kicked the British man in the face, knocked him down before they exchanged punches.

As for his friend, which can be seen in the footage, the friend said that he was so stunned and shocked by the situation, he did not know how to respond, which is why he didn’t jump in, and he was also afraid of being attacked himself. Bystanders intervened and alerted authorities. As officers tried to control the situation, though, after they arrived, the Thai man attempted to run away.

Of course, police pursued and detained him again. At this point, the British man’s friend became agitated and shouted at officers to take him away before he tried to flee once again.

Investigation and Legal Action After the Assault

The Thai man was taken to Pattaya City Police Station for questioning. Investigators did say they’re going to gather witness statements and check the motorcycle claim before deciding on what further legal action will take place, but they did note that it was a public assault, which seems pretty cut and dry in terms of a legal situation. They also stated that if people are having disputes between each other, rather than to resort to violence or to try to resolve the situation oneself, if they think it will escalate, to instead go to the police station and file a proper report and allow police to mediate the situation.

Indian Tourist Detained in Pattaya Over Taxi Driver’s Wallet

An Indian tourist was detained in Pattaya by police after picking up a dropped Pattaya taxi driver’s wallet and not immediately returning it. Today is September 7, 2026. This incident happened over the weekend at about 11:00 p.m. on September 4 when a 51-year-old taxi driver sought help from police, stating that he had lost his wallet earlier in the day and later saw on CCTV that a man who appeared to be Indian had taken it and ridden away.

It happened around 3:18 p.m. that day while his car was parked by a bank in Pattaya. He opened the door to get in and dropped his wallet without noticing. He said it contained about 7,000 baht in cash, as well as documents and several important cards. After realizing it was missing, he checked nearby CCTV footage with the assistance of local businesses, which showed the Indian man riding a green sport bike.

He then set out to find the motorcycle himself, driving around Pattaya for nearly three hours, as it was a highly recognizable bike. He eventually spotted it in front of Pattaya Beach and contacted police. When the rider returned, officers identified themselves and invited him for questioning.

He was identified as Mr. Sathia, 39, an Indian who was with an Indian friend. During questioning, Mr. Sathia admitted he had picked up the wallet, but he claimed he was planning to turn it in. He just didn’t know where to go.

But when he produced the wallet, officers found the 7,000 baht in cash was missing, making them skeptical of the claim that he wanted to return it in full with everything inside it. However, after further questioning, Sathia went to an ATM, withdrew the same amount, and returned the money to the victim, Mr. Mesa.

Police, however, decided to take Sathia and Mesa to Pattaya City Police Station for additional statements and to see if Mesa wanted to pursue additional charges despite getting the money back.
